RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is very similar to RCT, but with the advantage that you can build vertically. Most of the information in this RCT Loopy Landscapes reference guide also applies to RCT2.

These are b&w PDF scans of the RollerCoaster Tycoon User Manual, the supplemental LoopyLandscapes User Manual, and the RCT Strategy Guide. These books are offered only for reference purposes, as some of the information contained in them has been proven to be incorrect. All the important information from these books, and far more, can be gleaned from instead reading the "Definitive RCT Reference Guide":

Supplemental User Manual (2Mb)
Strategy Guide (28Mb)
Note: Although the supplemental User Manual discourages using unofficial saved files or scenarios, this will no longer be an issue after installing the Drexler patch.
Here is a freely distributable playable demo of original RollerCoaster Tycoon. It is a full working version of the actual game, with the exception that you cannot Save or Load "Saved Games". This Demo is only suitable for computers running Windows 95/98/ME, but allows persons with such outdated hardware to amuse themselves with a minimal resource requirement version of RollerCoaster Tycoon 1.
WARNING: Never install this Demo on a computer that already has RollerCoaster Tycoon (1 or 2) installed!
Do not confuse this stand-alone Demo with the Tutorial built into LoopyLandscapes. The Tutorial available when you start LoopyLandscapes is fully compatible, can be replayed multiple times, and is highly suggested as a way to give persons who have never played RCT an opportunity to experience the game for themselves on your PC (they will not be interferring with any of your regular Scenarios progress).

As such, Windows NT based Operating Systems (Win2k, WinXP, etc.) cannot run the game without the official RCTLL-US patch (sometimes called the Win2k patch). Windows Vista and above may have difficulty running even the patched game, depending on what compatability features Microsoft has chosen to drop in the OS you are using (
